Need Christmas gift ideas?

We’ve all been there before. We’re making a list — checking it twice — and crossing out gifts as we purchase them for all our loved ones. And just when we think we’ve made some progress we come to a person on our list who is notoriously difficult to buy for. You know the type: the one who has everything, has few interests, returns everything you buy them or just flat out doesn’t put your gift to much use. This person tells you not to buy them anything, but who’s going to listen to that? It’s the season of giving, and if this person is important enough to be on your list, he or she is important enough to receive a gift from you.

So, what do you do? You could always go the gift card route, but how much fun is that? That’s like giving them money. Sure, some people could really use the money — couldn’t we all? — but as a gift, it feels more like a donation to charity than a thoughtful gift for someone you love.

The best route to take is to ask those people who might be close to your intended gift recipient and find out what that person wants or needs. But doing some research online certainly helps grease the wheels of creativity.

Here are a few places that might help you find what you’re looking for.
